Two people on a train heading out of Boston discussed their passion for reading and expressed their desire to catch up on their Sikhi reading, i.e., interesting books written by Sikh authors or on some aspect of Sikhs-Sikhism. They got off the train with an idea of creating a platform for open-minded individuals to read, exchange, and build on each others’ views. By the time they left the parking lot, the idea of a Book Club had been proposed and seconded. And as they drove away in their respective directions, an initial reading list was already being drafted.
The Sikh Book Club is an outcome of that conversation and their subsequent efforts. In this book club, we intend to read books on different aspects of Sikhism, such as social, cultural, historical, political, theological and philosophical. (Read more on the topics of books…)
